Okidata C711DN Toner | Compatible 44318604 Cartridges

C711DN

The Okidata C711DN is the duplex-and-network variant of the C711 color laser printer, built for workgroups that share a color printer across the office. It uses the same Type C16 cartridges: yellow 44318601, magenta 44318602, cyan 44318603 and black 44318604. It is a compact A4 color printer with duplex and networking standard, and on the C711DN each of the four colors is a separate cartridge, so a shared printer only ever needs the one cartridge that has emptied swapped out.

Its single-pass LED engine prints color nearly as fast as mono, so short color jobs finish quickly even when the whole office is sending work to it. For a small team the cartridges are sized sensibly, with black emptying first under typical office coverage, and duplex printing on both sides of the sheet by default keeps paper use down. Compatible C711DN cartridges keep shared color printing affordable for the workgroup.

Which cartridge should you buy?

On a shared printer the settings do most of the saving: set black-and-white and duplex as the driver defaults for everyday documents and switch to color only when a job needs it. That stretches the color cartridges while the black — which empties first — is bought in the singles and multi-packs listed above. When a color does run out, only that one is replaced; the other three keep working. If the whole set is low at once, a 4-color set is the one order that refreshes everything, and the 5-color and 8-color sets are there for offices that print color all week.

Chip, toner and everyday use

Seat each cartridge in its own slot and let the printer read the chip before sending the next job; the first page after a change shows whether the color is laying down evenly. Rock a fresh cartridge gently first so the toner settles. Rated yields rest on about 5% page coverage, and color documents with large filled areas use toner faster than that rating implies. Keep spares sealed and upright in a dry place, and put the spare black where the whole team can find it — on a shared printer, the person who prints last is rarely the person who ordered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which toner does the OKI C711DN use?

The C711DN uses yellow 44318601, magenta 44318602, cyan 44318603 and black 44318604. It is a compact A4 color printer with duplex and networking standard.

What is the best driver setting for everyday C711DN printing?

Set black-and-white and duplex as defaults for everyday documents, switching to color only when needed. That stretches the 44318602 through 44318604 color cartridges while the fast engine keeps jobs moving.

How does the C711DN keep up with bigger printers?

Its single-pass LED engine prints color nearly as fast as mono, so short color jobs finish quickly. For a small team the 44318601-series cartridges are sized sensibly, with black emptying first under typical office coverage.

What happens when only one color runs out?

Only that cartridge needs replacing. Each of the four colors is a separate unit on the C711DN, so the empty one is swapped and the other three keep working until they are spent.
