Frequently Asked Questions

How long will one set last in a busy department running an MC950?

The MC950 is a departmental machine, so the honest answer is "it depends on your monthly volume" — but the math is simple. The black cartridge is rated up to 3,500 pages and each color up to 3,000 pages. A department printing 1,000 pages a month will work through the black in roughly three to four months; at 2,000 pages a month, expect about half that. Heavy color coverage shortens color life well below the ratings, since those figures assume 5% coverage per page.

What is included, and what does each cartridge cost me?

Four cartridges — black, cyan, magenta and yellow — covering Oki part numbers 44469801, 44469701, 44469702 and 44469703. The set is $64.38, so each position in the printer costs about $16.10 to refill. For a machine of the MC950's size and original cost, that is a modest running expense, and buying the set keeps all four part numbers on the shelf in one order.

Should a department keep a spare set on hand?

For a shared departmental printer, yes — downtime costs more than shelf space. A practical pattern is to run one set in the machine and hold a second set as the spare. When a color empties, swap in the spare cartridge for that color only, then reorder the set so the buffer rebuilds. Cartridges store well sealed in a cool, dry place, so there is little downside to holding stock.

Can the cartridges be replaced one at a time?

Yes — each is packaged separately and the printer tracks them independently. Replace the 44469801 black when it empties, and replace each of the colors (44469701, 44469702, 44469703) only when its own warning appears. Nothing in the printer requires a matched, same-age set.

What protection comes with these compatible cartridges?

Each cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. If a cartridge in the set fails early — leaking, streaking, poor density — contact us and we will replace or refund it under those terms. The full details live on our shipping and returns page, and our support team is reachable Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central.

How fast can a department get resupplied?

Orders ship from our warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, so delivery typically comes from the region nearest you. If your organization runs several Oki models, our Okidata catalog covers the matching sets for those machines as well.

About This Okidata MC950 MFP 4 Color Set

A full four-cartridge compatible set for the Okidata MC950 multifunction printer: black (Oki 44469801, up to 3,500 pages) and cyan, magenta and yellow (Oki 44469701, 44469702, 44469703, up to 3,000 pages each). Priced at $64.38 — about $16.10 per cartridge — the set is sized for departments that cannot afford to have a large shared MFP sitting idle over an empty color, and it works just as well as ready spare stock since each cartridge is sealed individually. Sets ship from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses, and every cartridge is backed by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, with support available Monday–Friday, 9–5 Central.
