Frequently Asked Questions

Why does magenta seem to run out at a different rate from the other colors?

Because documents are not color-balanced. Reds, purples, skin tones and warm graphics all draw heavily on magenta, while a month of invoices may barely touch it. The 44469720 is the high-yield magenta for this family, rated at 5,000 pages, precisely because color consumption is uneven and a bigger fill smooths out the surprises.

What does the 5,000-page rating mean in practice?

It is the manufacturer's standardized test figure at typical coverage. Treat it as a comparison yardstick rather than a promise: presentations with full-bleed backgrounds will finish any cartridge sooner, while ordinary office color — a chart here, a highlighted heading there — lands much closer to the rating.

Which printers use this magenta cartridge?

It is listed for the Oki C530dn and C531dn, and for the MC562w, MC890 and MC950 multifunction models. Check the supply information on your machine: if 44469720 appears against the magenta position, this is the cartridge it refers to.

My reds are printing orange — could this cartridge be the cause?

Quite possibly. When magenta fades, red becomes orange, purple turns blue-ish and photos lose their warmth, even though the printer may not yet report the cartridge as empty. If black and the other colors still look right, a tired magenta is the first suspect.

Is this a genuine Oki cartridge or a compatible one?

It is a compatible cartridge, manufactured to match the original's fit and rated yield and sold under our Clever Supplies name. In our Okidata range it is $29.85 — around 0.6 cents per page across its rated life.

What if the cartridge leaks or fails in the first months?

You are covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, detailed in our shipping and returns policy. We ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, choosing the closest to your address, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
