Frequently Asked Questions

What does this MC873 set work out to per cartridge?

The four-color set is $139.21, which averages to about $34.80 for each cartridge in the box. You get one black, one cyan, one magenta and one yellow in a single order, so all four toner positions in your MC873 are covered at once instead of being bought piecemeal.

How should I read the 10,000-page rating on these cartridges?

Each of the four cartridges is rated at up to 10,000 pages under standard test conditions with light, even coverage. On an A3-capable multifunction like the MC873, everyday office output — letters, spreadsheets, reports — tracks reasonably close to that figure, while large full-color pages and dense graphics draw color toner down much faster. Treat 10,000 as the rating for the class, not a guarantee for every job type.

Which cartridge numbers does this set cover?

The set is built around the 44844509, 44844510, 44844511 and 44844512 cartridge family, quoted together because the four numbers travel as one matched group. If the cartridge you pull from your MC873 carries one of those numbers, this box holds its full-color replacement set.

Do all four cartridges have to go in at the same time?

No. Each cartridge is sealed separately, so you can install only the color the machine is calling for and keep the rest on the shelf. Many offices swap black first — it does most of the document work — and let the colors follow weeks or months later as they run down.

Which printers take this set besides the MC873?

This cartridge family is also listed for the Oki C831, C831dn and C831n printers and the MC873dn and MC873dnc multifunctions. The part numbers — 44844509, 44844510, 44844511 and 44844512 — are the most reliable check: match the number on your old cartridge and the model question answers itself.

What backing comes with these compatible cartridges?

These are Clever Supplies compatible cartridges, and each one is covered by a one-year warranty with one-year free returns — the full terms are on our shipping & returns page. Your order ships from the closest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses, and support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central.
