Frequently Asked Questions
Which toner set does the Oki C831D use?
The C831D uses black 44844509, cyan 44844510, magenta 44844511, and yellow 44844512. Order by these exact numbers to avoid mismatch with other Oki color families.
My C831D duplex prints look lighter on the second side. Why?
Duplex printing does not use less toner per side, so lighter second sides usually mean a color cartridge is getting low. Check toner levels rather than blaming the duplexer.
How does the C831D handle toner for mixed black-and-color jobs?
The printer pulls from the black 44844509 cartridge for text and engages the color cartridges only where color appears. Mostly-text jobs therefore barely touch the cyan, magenta, and yellow cartridges.
