XP-15000 Ink — The 312XL + 314XL Shelf
Epson's own cartridge table for the XP-15000 is split, and this page keeps the split visible: T312XL120 / T312XL220 / T312XL320 / T312XL420 for black, cyan, magenta and yellow, and T314XL720 / T314XL820 for gray and red. There is no standard-capacity gray or red, and no '312 gray' — sellers who label the whole set '312' are flattening a real distinction. Our shelf is the XL tier throughout: black up to 500 pages, gray up to 4,000 pages on Epson's published rating, colour output rated as an 830-page XL composite (ISO/IEC 24711) across the colour set, and red with no separate published rating.
The boundary that keeps orders right: the XP-8500, XP-8600 and XP-8700 are cousins, not twins. Their last two slots are light cyan and light magenta; this wide-format printer's are gray and red. Those cartridges do not fit each other's printers, whatever a marketplace listing claims. If your badge says XP-15000, the eight singles and two sets on this page are your whole shelf.
The dye set is built for photographs: the two light colours exist to smooth gradients in skin tones and skies, work that shows best on photo paper and makes this family a photo shelf first and a document shelf second.
Which 312XL and 314XL should you buy?
- One slot ran out: replace just that cartridge — black is $20.99; the core colours, gray and red are $17.99 each.
- Full six-slot reset: the Set of 6 ($98.91) covers black, the three core colours, gray and red in one box.
- Stocked wide-format shelf: the Set of 13 ($194.81) carries three blacks and two of everything else.
Chip, ink and everyday use
These cartridges are chipped, and Epson's own support pages document firmware-related recognition questions for this model. If a warning ever follows a firmware update, reseat the cartridge and restart before judging it. The dye ink set — gray for monochrome depth, red for the wide gamut this printer was built for — rewards photo paper; keep spares sealed until install day. Every cartridge here carries our lifetime warranty with 1-year free returns.
