Frequently Asked Questions

Could this 5-pack be a full year of toner for our department?

Very plausibly, and then some. Five 331-9795 cartridges hold 225,000 rated pages in total. A B5465 printing 10,000 pages a month — serious departmental volume — would take nearly nineteen months to work through the pack; at 15,000 a month it still covers about fifteen months. For most single-machine departments, one order settles the toner question for well over a year.

What does the per-cartridge price fall to in this pack?

$588.09 for five works out to $117.62 per cartridge, against $132.41 bought one at a time — $73.96 saved across the pack, and a per-page cost of roughly 0.26 cents. The saving is not dramatic per cartridge, but multiplied by 225,000 pages it is real money.

Why does this listing use the number 331-9795 instead of the printer's name?

Because that is how the cartridge is identified in Dell's parts system and on the paperwork of anyone who buys it more than once. This is the number-first version of the cartridge — the same 45,000-page black cartridge for the B5465 that is sold under the printer name elsewhere on this site.

Does holding four spare cartridges create any storage problem?

No, beyond shelf space. Sealed toner cartridges are stable in storage — the contents are a dry powder. Keep them in their boxes, flat, somewhere cool and dry, and fit them oldest first. The cartridge you install last from this pack will print like the first one did.

Are these genuine Dell cartridges?

They are not. This 5-pack is a compatible 331-9795, made by a third-party manufacturer to the same specification. Assess it on what is stated: 45,000 pages per cartridge, $588.09 for the pack, and the warranty and returns cover below.

What happens if one cartridge in the pack proves faulty?

Each cartridge carries a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns — a problem with one does not strand the other four. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the full terms sit on our shipping & returns page.
