Frequently Asked Questions

What does 135,000 pages look like as a planning horizon?

That is what this 3-pack holds: three 331-9795 cartridges at 45,000 rated pages each. On a B5465 printing 5,000 pages a month, it is roughly twenty-seven months of toner bought in a single order; at 7,500 a month, about eighteen months. One purchase order, one delivery, and toner drops off the recurring agenda for a year and a half or more.

How does the 3-pack price compare with buying singly?

The pack is $360.25, which works out to $120.08 per cartridge against $132.41 for a single — $36.98 saved across the three, and a per-page cost of about 0.27 cents. The deeper into the pack sizes you go, the further the per-cartridge price steps down from the single-cartridge figure.

Why does this listing lead with the number 331-9795?

Because that is the identifier purchasing works with. Dell's parts system knows this cartridge as 331-9795, and that number is what appears on requisitions, invoices and storeroom records for the B5465. This is the number-first listing of the same cartridge sold under the printer's name elsewhere on the site.

Is there any risk in holding two spare cartridges for that long?

Very little, handled sensibly. Sealed toner cartridges store well — the powder inside does not evaporate or set. Keep the spares in their packaging, flat, in a cool dry cupboard rather than next to a heat source, and rotate stock so the oldest cartridge is always the next one fitted.

Are these genuine Dell cartridges?

They are not. This is a compatible 331-9795, produced by a third-party manufacturer to the same specification. Judge the pack on its stated terms: 45,000 pages per cartridge, $360.25 for three, and the cover set out below.

What warranty and returns cover does the pack carry?

A 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns covers every cartridge in the pack, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. The complete terms are on our shipping & returns page.
