Frequently Asked Questions

My 6010 seems to flag a low colour every few weeks. Is that normal?

Yes — it is the arithmetic of a compact colour machine. The colour cartridges on this platform are rated at up to 1,400 pages each, so even moderate colour printing cycles them noticeably faster than the black. Keeping a complete set on hand turns each warning into a two-minute swap instead of a wait for a delivery.

What colours and codes am I getting?

One cartridge of each colour: black 106R1630, cyan 106R1627, magenta 106R1628 and yellow 106R1629. Those four codes are the entire supply list for the Phaser 6010 — match the code on the cartridge you remove to the same code in the box and the replacement is right, every time.

How far does the black cartridge go compared with the colours?

The black is the long-distance runner of the set: up to 2,000 pages against up to 1,400 for each colour, all rated at 5 percent page coverage. A document mix of letters and the odd colour chart will usually see a colour ask for replacement first, with the black still holding a useful reserve.

Does this set fit anything besides my Phaser 6010?

It fits the whole platform. The set is named for the Phaser 6010, but the identical four cartridges run in the Phaser 6000, the networked Phaser 6010N and the WorkCentre 6015 family — handy if a second machine joins the desk later.

Can I fit just one cartridge from the set and keep the rest boxed?

Absolutely. The four cartridges are independent units; nothing links them. Most owners replace the single colour the printer names, then hold the remaining three as the cheapest spares they will ever buy, ready the moment the next warning appears.

What protection backs this set?

A one-year warranty on every cartridge and free returns for a full year, detailed on our shipping and returns page. We ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and a real support desk is staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Phaser 6010 Four-Color Set
