Frequently Asked Questions

What do the four part numbers in this set's name actually stand for?

Each number is one colour. 106R1630 is the black cartridge, 106R1627 is cyan, 106R1628 is magenta and 106R1629 is yellow. Together they are the complete supply set for this printer family — there is no fifth colour and no separate drum cartridge to track down, so matching the number on the cartridge you pulled out against these four tells you exactly which slot it came from.

Exactly what is inside the box?

Four cartridges: one black, one cyan, one magenta and one yellow. Every colour position in the printer is covered once, which makes this the set to order when several colours are running low together or when you want a complete refresh in a single delivery for $68.36.

How many pages will the set print?

The black 106R1630 is rated at up to 2,000 pages, while each colour cartridge — cyan, magenta and yellow — is rated at up to 1,400 pages, all at the standard 5 percent page coverage behind every published yield figure. In everyday terms the black will normally outlast the colours, because most documents lean far more heavily on black than on any single colour.

Which printers does this set belong to?

It was built for the Phaser 6000 named in this listing, and the same four cartridges also serve the Phaser 6010, the Phaser 6010N and the multifunction WorkCentre 6015 line. One supply family covers the whole platform, which is why the same code list appears on every listing in the range.

Only my cyan is empty. Should I really change all four cartridges?

You do not have to. Each cartridge lifts out and swaps independently, so fit the cyan now and keep the other three from the set on the shelf as your spares. Nothing about a set forces a full change — owners simply like knowing the next colour to fade is already in the cupboard rather than a delivery away.

What cover comes with these cartridges?

Each one is backed by a one-year warranty with free returns for a full year, set out in detail on our shipping and returns page. Orders leave warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and help is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if a cartridge misbehaves.

About This Phaser 6000 Four-Color Set

At $68.36 — $17.09 per cartridge — this is the anchor set of the family: one each of 106R1630, 106R1627, 106R1628 and 106R1629 for owners of the Phaser 6000 who print in colour regularly enough that running dry mid-document is a real annoyance. It suits the home office and the small team equally, and the rest of the compatible range for these machines lives on our Xerox toner page.
