Frequently Asked Questions

Does the B in Phaser 6000B mean it takes a different cartridge?

No. The B is part of the printer's model name, not a supply designation. The 6000B feeds from exactly the same four cartridges as the plain 6000 — black 106R1630, cyan 106R1627, magenta 106R1628, yellow 106R1629 — which is why this set, listed under the 6000B name, carries the family's familiar code list.

What will I find in the box?

Four cartridges, one for each colour position in the machine: black, cyan, magenta and yellow, coded as above. At $68.36 the set works out to $17.09 per cartridge, and fitting any one of them is the same lift-out, drop-in job as the cartridge it replaces.

How long does each cartridge last?

The black 106R1630 is rated at up to 2,000 pages; the three colours at up to 1,400 pages each, using the standard 5 percent coverage measure. Light home use can stretch a set across a very long calendar, because toner is a dry powder that does not spoil sitting in the machine between jobs.

Which printers share this set with the 6000B?

The whole platform shares it: the Phaser 6000 the 6000B derives from, the Phaser 6010 and Phaser 6010N, and the WorkCentre 6015 multifunctions. One set on the shelf covers any of them.

Why buy four cartridges at once for a small home printer?

Because colour machines rarely warn you politely. A colour reaching empty mid-print leaves the job unfinished, and the colours on this platform are modest 1,400-page units that can turn over faster than expected. The set guarantees the next three warnings are already answered, at a lower per-cartridge price than single purchases.

What if a cartridge gives trouble?

Send it back. A one-year warranty covers every cartridge in the set and returns stay free for a full year, as the shipping and returns page explains. We deliver from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is on hand Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Phaser 6000B Four-Color Set

This listing exists so 6000B owners do not have to guess whether the 6000 set is theirs: it is, and here it is under your machine's own name — 106R1630, 106R1627, 106R1628 and 106R1629, one of each, for $68.36. Everything else the platform uses can be found through our Xerox toner page.
