Frequently Asked Questions

My blue skies are printing pale pink. Is this the cartridge that fixes it?

Very likely, yes. Cyan is the ink behind every blue and green on the page, so when the 106R1627 runs low the blues drain first — skies wash out, water turns grey-pink and greens slide toward yellow. That colour shift is the classic early warning of an emptying cyan cartridge, usually appearing well before the printer reports anything.

The name says "Cartridges" — how many are in the box?

One. Despite the plural wording in the listing title, this is a single cyan cartridge for $31.99. The other three colours in this printer family are separate cartridges with their own numbers — 106R1630 in black, 106R1628 in magenta and 106R1629 in yellow — and each is ordered on its own listing when its turn comes.

How far does one cyan cartridge go?

It is rated at up to 1,400 pages at the standard 5 percent coverage behind every published yield figure, which works out to about 2.28 cents per page at $31.99. Photo-heavy and graphics-heavy work leans on cyan far harder than plain text does, so a cartridge feeding holiday photos or presentation charts will finish sooner than one behind everyday colour documents.

Which machines take this cartridge?

This listing is named for the Phaser 6000, and the same 106R1627 also serves the Phaser 6010, the Phaser 6010N and the WorkCentre 6015 family. One cyan supply covers the whole platform, which is why the code follows the colour rather than any single model name.

Can I swap just the cyan and leave the rest?

Yes — each of the four cartridges lifts out and changes independently, so there is never a need to disturb colours that still have life in them. Fit the new cyan, run a couple of colour pages to let it settle, and your blues should come back to full strength straight away.

What cover comes with this cartridge?

It is backed by a one-year warranty with free returns for a full year, set out in detail on our shipping and returns page. Orders leave warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Phaser 6000 Cyan Cartridge

At $31.99, this 106R1627 is the single cyan supply for owners of the Phaser 6000 who print in colour and notice the moment their blues stop looking like the screen. It is the cartridge behind skies, water, logos and photographs on this compact platform, rated at 1,400 pages so a spare on the shelf is cheap insurance against a washed-out deadline. The rest of the compatible range for these machines lives on our Xerox toner page.
