Frequently Asked Questions

Who actually needs eight cartridges at once?

Anyone whose colour printing is steady rather than occasional: the small office turning out proposals and invoices every week, the classroom, the shop counter printing signage. On this platform the colour cartridges are rated at 1,400 pages apiece, so a busy machine works through them at a pace that makes a stock on the shelf cheaper than repeated small orders and emergency deliveries.

How does the math compare with the smaller sets?

This eight-cartridge set is $118.22, or $14.78 per cartridge. Two of the four-colour sets would cost $136.72 for the same eight cartridges, so buying them together here saves $18.50, and the per-cartridge price drops at every step of the range — $17.09 in the four set, $15.96 in the five, $14.78 in this one.

Which cartridges make up the eight?

All eight are drawn from the family's four codes: 106R1630 for black, 106R1627 for cyan, 106R1628 for magenta and 106R1629 for yellow. There are no substitutes and no off-platform cartridges in the box — every cartridge in the set belongs to one of those four supply numbers, so whatever you pull off the shelf matches a position in your printer.

What yields should I plan around?

Plan on up to 2,000 pages from each black 106R1630 and up to 1,400 pages from each colour cartridge, rated at the standard 5 percent coverage. Colour-rich work — photos, charts, full-bleed flyers — covers far more of each page and will cycle the colours faster, which is precisely the usage pattern this bulk set is priced for.

Which printers run on this set?

The whole Phaser 6000 family and its multifunction cousins: the Phaser 6000, Phaser 6010 and Phaser 6010N, plus the WorkCentre 6015 range. The platform shares one supply design end to end, so a single stock of cartridges can serve more than one machine in the same office.

How should I store a stock of cartridges?

Flat, in their boxes, in an ordinary room. Toner is a sealed dry powder and does not dry out in storage; heat and damp are the only real enemies, so keep the boxes away from radiators and steamy utility rooms and they will print like fresh stock whenever a position in the printer opens up. Every cartridge is covered by a one-year warranty with free returns for a full year — terms are on the shipping and returns page — orders ship from IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and support runs Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This Eight-Cartridge Bulk Set

Eight cartridges, four proven codes — 106R1630, 106R1627, 106R1628, 106R1629 — and the lowest per-cartridge price in the family at $14.78. This is the working stock for a Phaser 6000 or WorkCentre 6015 that earns its keep in colour, bought once and drawn down as each position empties. The full compatible range for the platform is listed on our Xerox toner page.
