Everything from our C8035 has taken on a cold, bluish feel — what should we check first?

The yellow cartridge. A page looks warm because of its yellow content; as the yellow thins out, the remaining colours tilt cool and the whole sheet drifts toward blue-grey, even though no single colour looks dramatically wrong. On this machine that warmth comes from the 006R01700, and a general cold cast across otherwise correct prints is its characteristic symptom.

The yellows on the page still look yellow — how can yellow be the problem?

Because a partly faded yellow still reads as yellow to the eye; it is simply weaker than it should be, and the shortfall shows up in everything yellow mixes into. Judge the cartridge by a gradation test page from the ALTALINK C8035 control panel: the yellow band should step down in smooth, even stages. If the deeper steps look thin or uneven, the 006R01700 is telling you it is nearly spent.

What happens to photographs as this cartridge fades?

They go cold in a very recognisable way. Grass slides from green toward teal, skies get harder and bluer, wooden furniture and interior shots lose their glow, and sunlight in a picture stops looking like sunlight. If your photos have quietly turned wintry while text documents still look normal, suspect the yellow supply — the 006R01700 — before you suspect the machine.

Can we check the remaining level without waiting for a warning?

Yes — the supplies screen on the control panel reports an estimated level for the 006R01700 at any time, warning or not.
