Frequently Asked Questions

Our SCX-3405FW prints in bursts — quiet for days, then a long run of paperwork. How does one cartridge handle that pattern?

Without complaint. Toner does not care how its pages are spaced: the MLT-D101S delivers its 1,500 rated pages whether they leave in a month of steady printing or in a dozen heavy afternoons across a season. What burst printing does change is how suddenly the end arrives — a long run can take a nearly-finished cartridge from fine to faded in one session, which is the argument for keeping a spare.

How many reams of paper will one cartridge get through in the SCX-3405FW?

Three. The 1,500-page rating is three standard 500-sheet reams — a concrete way to picture the fill if page counts feel abstract. Dense, graphic-heavy reams will end it sooner; plain text reams track the rating closely.

What does this cartridge cost per month on the SCX-3405FW?

At $32.73 for 1,500 rated pages — about 2.18 cents a page — a machine averaging 250 pages a month spends near $5.45 a month on toner with this cartridge. Bursty months cost the same per page; they just arrive in lumps.

How will we know the cartridge is genuinely finished?

By output that fades evenly and stays faded. Rocking the cartridge side to side redistributes the last of the toner and usually restores a short run of good pages; when the fade returns immediately, the cartridge is spent and a fresh MLT-D101S is the fix.

Does the same cartridge fit our other Samsung printer?

If it belongs to the MLT-D101S family, yes: the SCX-3400F and SCX-3400FW, the SCX-3405, SCX-3405FW and SCX-3405W, plus the ML-2165W all share this cartridge.

What cover comes with this compatible cartridge?

Cover for a full year: the cartridge is warranted for twelve months, and returns cost nothing across the same span if the unit leaks, streaks or fails early. Details sit on the shipping and returns page; dispatch is from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and help runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
