Frequently Asked Questions

Prints from our SCX-3400F have gone pale down one side — will a fresh cartridge fix it?

Quite possibly, and it is the right first step. One-sided fading usually means the toner is running low and distributing unevenly; rocking the current MLT-D101S gently side to side may even the output out briefly, and a fresh cartridge settles it properly. Fading that survives a new cartridge is a machine-side matter — but on this platform the imaging parts live inside the cartridge, so a swap replaces most of what can cause it.

How much toner do received faxes quietly use on the SCX-3400F?

Exactly as much as printing the same pages yourself — every received fax is a printed page. A line taking twenty fax pages a day spends a hundred pages a week of this cartridge's 1,500-page rating without anyone in the office printing a thing, which is why fax machines seem to empty "by themselves".

What does one cartridge cost us per week on the SCX-3400F?

Work from the page cost: $32.73 buys 1,500 rated pages, about 2.18 cents each. A machine whose prints, copies and received faxes total 120 pages a week therefore spends roughly $2.60 a week on toner with this cartridge.

How long should we expect between cartridge changes on an SCX-3400F in everyday office use?

At a combined 100 pages a week, about fifteen weeks; at 200, nearer seven. Count everything the machine puts on paper — faxes included — because the cartridge certainly does.

Does this cartridge fit our other Samsung models?

Yes, across the MLT-D101S family: the the ML-2165W printer and the SCX-3400F, SCX-3400FW, SCX-3405, SCX-3405FW and SCX-3405W multifunctions. One spare can stand behind any of them.

What cover comes with this compatible cartridge?

The cartridge carries a year's cover: a warranty of twelve months, and returns that cost nothing across the same twelve months if the unit leaks, streaks or fails early. The steps are on the shipping and returns page, and our team answers Monday to Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM CST.
