Frequently Asked Questions

We copy a lot of colour documents on our C2670FW — does copying spend this yellow too?

Yes. A copy is a print: the C2670FW scans the page, then lays toner down exactly as it would for a computer print job, so colour copies draw on the CLT-Y505L just as printing does. Scanning on its own spends nothing, and neither does sending or receiving a fax — it is the paper coming out of the machine that uses the toner.

Why have the reds on our copies started looking pink?

Red is built from magenta laid over yellow. Copying and printing both spend the two together, but rarely at identical rates; when the yellow falls behind, the magenta takes over and reds slide towards pink and rose. If your reds have shifted but your blues still look right, a low CLT-Y505L is the first thing to check.

How long should one yellow last on a machine that copies as much as it prints?

Combined print-and-copy work spends yellow roughly twice as fast as a print-only pattern at the same page count, because every copy is another colour page. The CLT-Y505L is rated at 3,500 pages, so treat that as 3,500 sheets of output in total — prints and copies together — and reorder when colour starts shifting rather than by the calendar.

Which machines does this cartridge belong to?

This yellow is listed for two Samsung ProXpress models, the C2670FW and the C2620DW. If your machine is the C2670FW, the CLT-Y505L is the yellow it takes.

Is the yellow sold together with the other colours?

No — it is a single cartridge, so you replace only the colour that has run down. The CLT-K505L black, CLT-C505L cyan and CLT-M505L magenta for the same machine are separate listings, each changed on its own schedule.

What happens if we are not happy with it?

The cartridge is covered by a one-year warranty, and returns within the first year are free if it is not right for you. The full terms are on our shipping and returns page, and the support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you would rather talk first.

About This CLT-Y505L for the ProXpress C2670FW

For a multifunction machine like the Samsung ProXpress C2670FW, which also takes this cartridge alongside the C2620DW, the compatible CLT-Y505L yellow works a double shift: every colour copy spends it just as every colour print does. Rated at 3,500 pages and priced at $47.40 — roughly 1.35 cents a page at standard coverage — it keeps greens green and reds red on both kinds of output. It is stocked within our Samsung toner range, ships from our warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and carries a one-year warranty with free returns during the first year.
