Frequently Asked Questions

How do we stop the yellow running dry in the middle of a busy week on our C2620DW?

Plan by colour, not by cartridge set. The four colours in the C2620DW empty at different rates, and yellow is often the quiet one — it fades gradually rather than failing dramatically. Check the level when you load paper, and once the CLT-Y505L shows low, order the replacement then rather than when the machine stops: at $47.40 it is a cheap spare to hold, and a 3,500-page rating means the spare will keep for the next cycle whenever it lands.

What work is the yellow actually doing on everyday pages?

A surprising amount. Yellow is one half of every green, the warmth in wood tones, food photography and skin, and a component of the warm greys in shaded tables and charts. On a C2620DW printing ordinary office colour, the yellow cartridge is being spent a little on almost every page, which is why its level never seems to move in step with the black.

Can we keep printing colour jobs if the yellow runs completely out?

The machine may let you finish a job, but the output will not be what you sent: greens come out blue, reds turn pink and warm tones wash out. For internal drafts that may not matter; for anything a customer sees, it does. Black-only work is unaffected, so the practical move is to hold colour jobs until the replacement CLT-Y505L is in.

Is this the right yellow for the C2620DW?

Yes. The CLT-Y505L is the yellow cartridge listed for the Samsung ProXpress C2620DW, and it also serves the ProXpress C2670FW. Those are the two models on its compatibility list.

What does a page work out at on this cartridge?

The CLT-Y505L is $47.40 against a 3,500-page rating, so roughly 1.35 cents per page under standard coverage assumptions. Dense colour pages draw more toner per sheet and light ones less, but the figure holds up well as a planning number for mixed office work.

What cover stands behind it after we buy?

A one-year warranty stands behind it, with free returns available throughout the first year if the cartridge is not right for you. You will find the full wording on our shipping and returns page.
