Frequently Asked Questions

What does the high-yield rating change in day-to-day use?

Mostly, how often you think about toner. The CLT-K505L carries a 6,000-page rating, so the interval between swaps stretches from weeks into months on a typical desk, warnings appear less often, and ordering becomes a quarterly habit instead of a monthly one. Nothing about the routine changes — the same front-door swap — it just happens a third as often as it would with a standard cartridge.

The headline says CLT-505 — is the CLT-K505L the same supply?

Yes. CLT-505 is the short family label; the full code of the black member is CLT-K505L, where K marks black and L marks the high-yield capacity. The colour members complete the set as CLT-C505L, CLT-M505L and CLT-Y505L. If the cartridge in your hand is stamped CLT-K505L, this listing — however the headline abbreviates it — is that cartridge.

Which machines is this black made for?

The CLT-K505L serves Samsung's ProXpress C2620DW and ProXpress C2670FW colour printers. Both models draw on their black for the bulk of everyday work, so the high-yield black is the natural fit for either. Order against the code rather than the model name and the same cartridge covers both machines.

Why does black get used up even though these are colour printers?

Because most of what an office prints is not colour. Documents, forms, statements and emails are black text on white paper, printed by the black cartridge alone; the colour set is only spent where a page carries colour. The CLT-K505L therefore lives the hardest life of the four — which is exactly why its 6,000-page rating, rather than a standard one, suits the platform.

What is the running cost of this single cartridge?

$45.14 buys the full 6,000-page rating, which works out at approximately 0.75 cents per page at the standard five percent coverage. Compare that with the standard-capacity CLT-K505S in the same machine and the high-yield black is cheaper on every page it prints — the saving is in the arithmetic, not in the asking price.

What warranty and returns come with it?

A one-year warranty against defects and free returns for a full year from the purchase date; our shipping and returns page carries the wording in full. Stock ships from whichever of our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses is nearest to you, and our support team answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
