Frequently Asked Questions

What does the L on this cartridge buy us over the standard black?

Pages, in a single swap. The L marks the high-yield member of the 505 family: the CLT-K505L is rated at 6,000 pages, where the standard-capacity CLT-K505S runs out well short of that. Same machine, same fit, longer interval between changes — and because the price difference is far smaller than the yield difference, the high-yield black is also the cheaper page of the two.

This listing is headed CLT-505L, but my cartridge reads CLT-K505L — same thing?

It is. CLT-505L is the family name the whole generation shares; the K in CLT-K505L is the part that specifies black. The cyan, magenta and yellow of the family carry C, M and Y in the same position. So a headline written CLT-505L with CLT-K505L in the title is describing this black cartridge — check the K before you order any member of the family and you cannot pick up a colour by mistake.

Which machines does this black belong to?

The CLT-K505L is the black supply listed for the Samsung ProXpress C2620DW and the ProXpress C2670FW. Both are colour machines that lean on their black for everyday documents, which is why the high-yield black is the sensible default for them: it is the cartridge those printers spend most of their lives spending.

Do the colours drain while we print in black and white?

No. A page sent as monochrome is printed by the black cartridge alone; the three colours sit that page out. That is the other half of why the black empties first on a colour platform — correspondence never touches the colours at all — and why setting internal drafts to greyscale preserves the colour set for work that genuinely needs it.

What does this single cartridge cost per page?

At $45.14 for a 6,000-page rating, roughly 0.75 cents of black per page at standard coverage. Photographs and dense graphics draw on the colours rather than this cartridge, so the black's own figure stays close to the rating in ordinary document work — the closer your pages are to plain text, the closer you land to 6,000.

What protection stands behind it?

Every cartridge we sell carries a one-year warranty, and returns are free at any point in the first year — the detail lives on our shipping and returns page. Dispatch is from the nearest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses, with support available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
