Frequently Asked Questions

Could a 3-pack honestly cover our office copier for a year?

For the classic personal-copier workload, yes. Three Canon E40 cartridges give you 12,000 pages in total — 4,000 per cartridge. An office copying around 1,000 pages a month, which is a healthy amount for a Canon PC or FC machine, lands almost exactly on twelve months. Lighter users, at 500 to 600 pages a month, stretch the same pack across close to two years. That is the real appeal here: one order, and toner stops being a recurring errand.

What does the per-page math look like across the three cartridges?

The pack is $141.77, which works out to $47.26 per cartridge and about 1.18 cents per page. Against three singles at $59.58 each — $178.74 in total — you save $36.97. Each step up the E40 ladder trims the per-cartridge price; the 3-pack is where the saving becomes large enough to plan around rather than just notice.

Is there any risk in cartridges sitting on our shelf that long?

Very little, if they stay sealed. Keep the unopened cartridges in their bags, flat, in a cool dry cupboard away from radiators and sunny windows. Toner does not dry out like ink, so a sealed Canon E40 (part number 1491A002AA) waits patiently. Mark the arrival date on each box and use them oldest-first, and a year of stock is a convenience rather than a risk.

Our copier is old — what if it dies before we finish the pack?

A fair concern with any long-lived machine. The honest answer is that the third cartridge is a small exposure: at $47.26 of the pack price, the most you can strand is one cartridge if the copier fails late in the year. Balanced against that, E40 copiers are famously durable, and the same cartridge fits the whole PC and FC personal copier family — a replacement machine of the same class uses the stock you already own.

Are these refilled Canon cartridges?

No. These are new compatible Canon E40 cartridges, manufactured to the E40 fit and 4,000-page yield specification — not refilled or remanufactured Canon shells. Every cartridge in the pack is covered by our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a bad unit is replaced or refunded rather than argued about.

Who do I talk to if a cartridge in the middle of the pack misbehaves?

Us — support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the warranty and free-return cover applies to each cartridge individually, whenever in the pack's life it is installed. Orders ship from our warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California; delivery and returns details are on our shipping and returns page.
