Frequently Asked Questions

Ten cartridges is a lot of toner. Who is this pack actually for?

Buyers who feed more than one Canon personal copier, or one copier with a genuinely heavy appetite: a management company with a PC copier at several properties, a school office, a busy service counter, or a small copy point. Ten Canon E40 cartridges hold 40,000 pages between them. Spread across three or four machines, that is a normal year's supply — bought once, at the lowest per-cartridge price in the E40 family.

What does the bulk price work out to per cartridge and per page?

The pack is $429.41: $42.94 per cartridge and about 1.07 cents per page. Ten singles would cost $595.80, so the saving is $166.39 — close to the price of three single cartridges handed back to you. If your usage is certain, no smaller Canon E40 (part number 1491A002AA) pack gets the unit cost lower than this one does.

Should a light user talk themselves into the 10-pack for the unit price?

Honestly, no. If one cartridge lasts your copier the better part of a year, ten of them is a decade of stock — shelf space and tied-up money spent chasing a saving of a few dollars per cartridge. The 10-pack rewards volume that definitely exists. A single copier with occasional use is better served by the single or the 2-pack, and we would rather sell you the right size than the biggest box.

How should ten cartridges be stored and rotated?

One dry cupboard, boxes flat and sealed, each marked with its arrival month. Issue them oldest-first — a simple first-in, first-out shelf. Toner is dry powder and keeps well in its sealed bag, so a properly stored E40 waits without degrading; the rotation is about tidiness and stock control, not about beating an expiry clock.

If our copier fleet changes, are we stuck with the stock?

Less than you might fear. The E40 is the single supply for the whole Canon PC and FC personal copier family, so any replacement machine from that class draws on the same shelf of cartridges. And each cartridge in this pack is individually covered by our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — a faulty unit is dealt with on its own, whenever it surfaces.

How is an order this size shipped and supported?

It ships from the nearest of our four US warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California. Delivery details and the returns process are on our shipping and returns page, and our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST for anything from a delivery question to a warranty claim.
