Frequently Asked Questions

This listing says "Premium Quality" but costs exactly the same $223.95 as the standard 5-pack. What gives?

You have read the two listings correctly, and we would rather be straight about it than invent a difference: the price is identical, the yield is identical at 4,000 pages per cartridge, the per-cartridge cost is $44.79 either way, and the warranty and returns cover is the same. Both listings are compatible Canon E40 cartridges (part number 1491A002AA) in a box of five. If the word "Premium" is the only thing separating them in your mind, choose on the numbers in front of you — on those, the two packs tie.

So how should I decide between this pack and the standard 5-pack?

On the things that can actually be checked: price per cartridge, rated yield, and the cover behind the sale. This pack is $223.95 for five cartridges — $44.79 each, about 1.12 cents per page across 20,000 pages — and every cartridge carries our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. Judge any E40 listing, ours included, by those three figures rather than by adjectives in the title.

What do I get in the box, exactly?

Five new compatible Canon E40 black toner cartridges. They are not refilled or remanufactured Canon shells. Each is rated for up to 4,000 pages at standard 5% coverage, which is the same specification the original Canon E40 is sold under, and each fits the Canon PC and FC personal copiers that take the E40 supply.

Does the warranty really treat a five-pack the same as a single?

Yes — cover attaches to each cartridge, not to the order. If cartridge number three leaks or prints badly when you install it months from now, that cartridge is replaced or refunded under the 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, and the rest of the pack stays yours. You are never asked to return good cartridges to claim on a bad one.

How long will five cartridges last our office?

The pack totals 20,000 pages. A personal copier copying around 1,000 pages a month — a busy front desk — works through it in about twenty months. At 2,000 pages a month, closer to ten. Store the sealed spares flat and dry, use them oldest-first, and the pack simply becomes the office's standing toner supply.

If I order this pack today, where does it come from and who helps if there is an issue?

It ships from whichever of our US warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — is nearest to you. Support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and delivery plus returns details are on our shipping and returns page.
