Frequently Asked Questions

What should the first pages look like after I install this cartridge in my MB451 MFP?

Clean, even black text with no streaks, smears or gray background haze. The first page or two can occasionally look slightly light while the toner settles into the print path, but by the third or fourth page the output should be at full density. If pages still look faded after a short run of test prints, take the cartridge out and rock it gently side to side to redistribute the toner, then try again.

How many pages will I get from one cartridge?

It is rated at up to 1,500 pages. That figure assumes typical office documents; dense coverage — contracts with heavy formatting, graphics, full-page scans printed back — will use it faster, while light memos and emails stretch it further. At $36.57, the rating works out to roughly 2.44 cents per page.

Does copying and scanning on the MFP use this toner too?

Copying does — every copy is a print, so it draws from the same 44992405 cartridge. Scanning to email or a folder uses no toner at all. If your MB451 MFP spends most of its day copying, expect the cartridge to run down faster than the page rating alone might suggest.

Is this an original Okidata cartridge?

No — it is a compatible cartridge built to the 44992405 specification, not an OEM Okidata product. That is why it costs $36.57 rather than typical brand-name pricing, and it is covered by our own one-year warranty and one-year free returns rather than the manufacturer's program.

When should I order the next one?

A sensible trigger is the moment the printer reports low toner and your print quality starts to thin out — order then and the replacement will normally arrive before the old cartridge gives up entirely. If the machine is shared and cannot sit idle, keeping one spare on the shelf is cheap insurance; the multi-packs of this same cartridge cut the per-unit price considerably.

Who do I contact if a page comes out wrong?

Our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. Before you call, note whether the problem is fading, streaking or blank pages — that detail speeds up troubleshooting. Warranty and return terms are spelled out on the shipping & returns page, and orders are dispatched from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA.
