Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this 5-pack the right size for — and who should buy singles instead?

Honestly, it splits by volume. If your MB451W works through a cartridge every month or two — a shared office printer, a small team, regular copying — the 5-pack pays for itself quickly. If you print a few pages a week, a single cartridge can last you most of a year, and five of them would be money sitting idle on a shelf. Buy the single and come back when it runs low.

What exactly is the saving if the pack does suit me?

Singles of the 44992405 are $36.57 each, so five would cost $182.85. The 5-pack is $108.88 — $73.97 less, about $21.78 per cartridge. Across the box's combined rating of roughly 7,500 pages, that is around 1.45 cents per page rather than about 2.44 cents.

How long might five cartridges last?

Each cartridge is rated at up to 1,500 pages, so the pack holds about 7,500 pages. At 250 pages a month that is two and a half years — arguably too long a horizon, and a smaller pack would do. At 750 pages a month it is ten months, which is the pack's sweet spot.

Are there cheaper-per-cartridge options above this size?

One: the 10-pack of the same cartridge brings the unit price down to about $19.93. Below this pack, the 3-pack sits near $24.24 and the 2-pack near $27.33 per cartridge. The ladder only rewards you if you genuinely print at that scale.

Do all five have to go into the same printer?

No. The 44992405 serves the entire MB451 line — MB451, MB451 MFP, MB451W and MB451W MFP — so the pack can act as the shared spare stock for several machines in one office.

What backs the pack if a cartridge disappoints?

These are compatible cartridges, each covered individually by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns as set out on our shipping & returns page. Support is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders leave from our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses.
