Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this MB451W listing carry the number 44992405 in its name?

That number is the cartridge's part number — the identifier that ties this cartridge to the MB451 family regardless of which shop or catalogue you are looking at. Printer model names vary in how they are written (MB451W here, the MFP variants elsewhere), but 44992405 always means this same black cartridge. If the cartridge coming out of your printer is marked with that number, this is its replacement.

How many pages is it rated for?

Up to 1,500 pages at typical document coverage. Dense pages shorten that; light ones stretch it. At the $36.57 price the rating works out at roughly 2.44 cents per page.

Does this one cartridge really serve the whole MB451 line?

Yes. The MB451, MB451 MFP, MB451W and MB451W MFP were all built around the same 44992405 cartridge — the differences between those machines are in the printer, not in the toner they take. It makes stocking simpler for offices running a mix of them.

Should I buy this single or one of the multi-packs?

It depends on how fast you print. This single at $36.57 suits light or occasional use. The same cartridge in a 5-pack drops to about $21.78 per unit, and there are 2-, 3- and 10-cartridge options in between — the faster you go through toner, the more the packs pay.

Is it an original Okidata cartridge?

No, it is a compatible cartridge made to the 44992405 specification. It is backed by our one-year warranty and one-year free returns — the details live on the shipping & returns page — rather than by the printer manufacturer.

What should I check when it arrives?

Match the number on the box against the cartridge you are replacing: 44992405 is the confirmation that counts. Keep it sealed until the printer actually needs it, and store it flat somewhere cool and dry. If anything about the delivery looks wrong, support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders ship from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses.
