Frequently Asked Questions
What toner fits the Oki B401?
The B401 uses black toner in two yields: standard 44992401 and high-yield 44992402 — the same cartridges as the B401d. One black cartridge handles all printing on this monochrome model.
How do the B401's toner options compare to the older B410 series?
They follow the same standard vs high-yield concept, but the cartridges are different part numbers and are not interchangeable between the two printer generations. Always order the 44992401/44992402 pair for the B401 — B410-series cartridges will not fit.
Is the high-yield 44992402 worth it for a home office B401?
Only if you print regularly — the 44992402 lowers cost per page but ties up more money in a cartridge that sits in the printer. For a home office printing a few pages a week, the standard 44992401 is the practical choice; the high-yield pays off once printing becomes daily.
