Frequently Asked Questions

What does "High Yield" mean on the 12X?

It describes the fill: this Q2612X cartridge is rated at 3,000 pages, so a printer fitted with one runs longer between changeovers. Everything else about the job — open the door, slide the old one out, slide this one in — is unchanged.

What is in the box?

One sealed Q2612X black high-yield cartridge, priced at $28.15. Remove the protective packaging and sealing strip as directed on the box and it is ready to install.

How do I make certain I reorder the high-yield version?

Quote the full code from the label of the cartridge you take out: Q2612X, final letter included. The X is part of the order code, not a decoration — leave it off and you will be sent a different cartridge.

Who gains most from a high-yield cartridge?

The owner of one busy printer that nobody wants to keep opening up: a reception desk, a till point, a classroom. Where the machine's output is steady week after week, a 3,000-page rating simply means the toner question comes up less often.

Our volume dips for a month or two at a time. Does a part-used cartridge suffer?

No. The toner inside is a dry powder that neither dries out nor settles permanently; after a quiet spell, a gentle side-to-side rock levels it again and printing carries on where it left off.

How will I know this cartridge is nearing its end?

The supplies status page gives an estimated level, and evenly fading pages are the visible sign. A gentle rock buys a little more life once fading starts, but that is the point to have the next cartridge ordered.
