Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this a MICR cartridge rather than a regular one?

The toner itself. This C7115A is filled with MICR toner — a magnetic formulation that lets the numbers along the bottom of a check be read by bank sorting equipment. It is still the 15A cartridge your printer takes, at $34.79, but the fill is made for check printing instead of everyday documents.

How do I confirm it matches my printer?

Same check as always: the part number on the cartridge you are replacing. If it reads C7115A, this MICR version is built on that same cartridge. Confirm the code, and confirm you actually print checks — regular documents do not need the magnetic fill.

Will my bank accept checks printed with this toner?

No toner seller can promise that, and we will not either. Acceptance depends on your bank's specification and on the whole check — stock, layout and print quality included. The sensible routine is to print a small test batch first and have your bank verify readability before a full check run goes out.

What page rating does the MICR cartridge carry?

2,500 pages, the same rating as the standard 15A. Check stock is usually a small share of a printer's work, so a MICR cartridge dedicated to checks tends to last a long while in calendar terms.

Can one printer handle both checks and normal documents?

Yes — swap cartridges with the job. Many small offices keep this MICR cartridge for check runs and a regular cartridge for letters and reports, changing over takes a couple of minutes. Just keep the MICR unit sealed and stored flat between runs so it stays clean.

What backing comes with it?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns cover this cartridge like everything else we sell. If a unit is faulty, it is replaced or refunded, and our team is on hand Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST for questions.

About This 15A MICR Cartridge

This is the check-printing version of the C7115A for a machine like the HP LaserJet 1200n: one black MICR cartridge rated at 2,500 pages, priced at $34.79, made for the business that prints its own checks and wants the bank line laid down in magnetic toner. Run a test batch for your bank before the first real payroll — that habit is worth more than any promise.
