WF-5110 Ink — 786XL Here, T788XXL Explained

Epson's Start Here sheet for the WF-5110 is one of the few documents in this family that prints three tiers side by side: 786, 786XL and 788XXL, in every colour. Our products are the middle tier — 786XL: T786XL120 black up to 2,600 pages and T786XL220 cyan, T786XL320 magenta and T786XL420 yellow up to 2,000 pages each (ISO/IEC 24711), DURABrite Ultra pigment ink throughout. The standard tier's yield is not printed here because it could not be verified in official US documentation.

The third tier needs a decision, not a listing: T788XXL does fit this model in Epson's data, but there is no compatible T788XXL in the LD ladder, so we do not sell one and no product on this page claims XXL fitment as its own code. If you are replacing an XXL cartridge today, the XL cartridges here fit the same positions at the XL yield stated above.

Which 786XL should you buy?

One colour ran out: replace just that colour — black, cyan, magenta and yellow singles are $19.49 each.
Full refresh: the Set of 4 ($67.44) replaces all four positions in one box.

Chip, ink and everyday use

Every cartridge carries a new compatible chip, so the printer reads ink levels normally; a one-time on-screen confirmation is the printer checking a non-Epson cartridge, not an error. Epson's own manuals for this family warn that a firmware update can stop a non-Epson cartridge that worked before it — reseat and restart first if a warning follows an update. The ink is DURABrite Ultra pigment: documents come out dry, resist smudging and hold up to handling. Lifetime warranty on every cartridge, with free returns for the first year. The XL tier is also the honest middle of this family's three: the standard yield is unverified, the XXL has no compatible version, and XL is the tier with both an official yield and a compatible cartridge behind it.
