WF-4820 Ink Cartridges — 822XL, All Four Colours

The WF-4820 appears by name in the "for use with" list of Epson America's official 822XL fact sheet, alongside the WF-4830, WF-4833 and WF-4834. Its cartridge set is the family's full eight codes — standard 822 (350 black / 240 per colour) and the XL codes we stock, T822XL120 black, T822XL220 cyan, T822XL320 magenta and T822XL420 yellow, at 1,100 pages per cartridge on the ISO/IEC 24711 pattern, DURABrite Ultra pigment ink.

Our range is the XL tier only — the compatible ladder for this family has no standard-capacity singles, and we say so rather than dressing standard cartridges up as XL. What that means at the desk: fewer cartridge changes, and a black that runs roughly three times the standard tier's 350 pages. The WF-4820 takes 822 ink only: not the wide-format 812 line, and not the 232 home line.

Which 822XL should you buy?

One colour ran out: replace just that colour — black, cyan, magenta and yellow singles — black $25.49, cyan $22.49, magenta $22.49, yellow $22.49.
Full refresh: the Set of 4 ($83.94) replaces all four positions in one box.
Stocked shelf: the Set of 9 ($175.37) stocks three blacks and two of each colour for offices that print every day.

Chip, ink and everyday use

These cartridges are chipped, and the honest version of the chip story is short: a new compatible chip reports levels to the printer, a one-time confirmation screen is the printer checking a non-Epson cartridge rather than an error, and a firmware update can occasionally precede a recognition warning — reseat and restart before anything else. The pigment ink is the everyday half of the story: sharp text, dry on contact, resistant to highlighting. Lifetime warranty; 1-year free returns. Singles, the Set of 4, or the black-heavy Set of 9 (three blacks, two of each colour) — every cartridge chipped and covered by our lifetime warranty.
