Frequently Asked Questions

What does a fax-only machine ask of a 1,500-page cartridge?

Steady, invisible consumption. The SF-760P prints every fax it receives, so this MLT-D101S cartridge's 1,500 rated pages are spent entirely by other people's sending habits: twenty received pages a day is a cartridge every fifteen weeks or so, whether or not anyone in the office ever prints a page themselves.

Why does an SF-760P burn toner overnight when the office is empty?

Because the phone line does not sleep. Faxes arrive at night and the machine prints them as they land, so a busy line can work through a visible share of a cartridge between Friday evening and Monday morning. It is normal behaviour for a fax machine — the toner use is real, it is just unattended.

How many received pages does an SF-760P cartridge handle?

Up to its 1,500-page rating at standard coverage — and received faxes are typically light text pages, so they track the rating well. Junk faxes count too, unfortunately: every page the machine prints spends toner, wanted or not.

What does a received fax page cost in toner?

About 2.18 cents — the cartridge is $32.73 for 1,500 rated pages. If the line is heavy and cartridges turn over fast, the five-cartridge pack of the same MLT-D101S brings that down towards 1.2 cents a page and keeps a spare in reach.

Does this cartridge fit our other Samsung machines?

Yes — the MLT-D101S is shared across the SCX-3405, SCX-3405FW and SCX-3405W, the SCX-3400F and SCX-3400FW, and the ML-2165W, so the fax machine's spare can also serve any of those, and theirs can serve the SF-760P.

What cover comes with this compatible cartridge?

The cartridge is covered for a year on both fronts — warranted for twelve months, and returnable free across the same twelve months if it leaks, streaks or fails early. The process is described on the shipping and returns page; we dispatch from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA.
