Frequently Asked Questions

Why pair a working cartridge with a shelf spare in one box?

Because the moment a cartridge dies is never convenient, and a two-pack removes the gap. One ML-D2850B goes into the ML-2850 now; the second waits sealed on the shelf, so the next changeover is a two-minute swap instead of a delivery wait. For a single-printer office it is the smallest pack that guarantees continuity - no bulk stock, no empty printer.

What does each cartridge work out to in this two-pack?

The pack is $87.93, so each cartridge effectively costs about $43.97 against $53.21 bought alone. Two singles would total $106.42, which makes the pack $18.49 cheaper for the same pair of cartridges. Across the pack's 10,000 rated pages, the running cost lands near 0.88 cents a page instead of about 1.06 cents.

How far do 10,000 pages go in a small office?

Two fills of 5,000 pages each. An office printing a few hundred pages a week - invoices, letters, the odd report - will measure this pack in months rather than weeks. Heavy coverage shortens it, light text stretches it, but as a planning figure 10,000 pages is roughly the toner appetite of a small ML-2850 across a good stretch of the year.

Which printers do these two cartridges fit?

Both are ML-D2850B units, listed for the ML-2850, ML-2850D, ML-2850DR, ML-2851ND and ML-2851NDL. The spare is not tied to the first cartridge's machine - if a second printer from that list joins the office later, the shelf cartridge fits it just as well.

How long can the second cartridge wait before it is used?

Months, without drama, provided it stays sealed, flat and somewhere cool and dry indoors. Toner does not slosh or dry out like ink; the sealed cartridge simply waits. When its turn comes, a gentle side-to-side rock levels the toner before fitting. What shortens a spare's patience is heat and sunlight, so a drawer beats a windowsill.

What cover applies to this pack?

Each cartridge carries a one-year warranty, and returns are free for a full year - including the situation where the pack turns out to be the wrong code entirely. The return steps are set out on our shipping and returns page. Support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST if you want the fit confirmed before ordering.
