Frequently Asked Questions

Our gold and amber branding keeps printing as a dull bronze — is the yellow the problem?

Almost certainly. Golds, ambers and warm yellows are among the most yellow-hungry colours a printer produces: they are built mostly from yellow toner with only a little magenta for depth. As the yellow in the machine fades, those tones lose their brightness first and settle into a muddy bronze, even while ordinary text pages still look perfectly fine. Fitting a fresh CLT-Y505L restores the yellow strength those brand colours depend on.

Do we have to replace all four colours when only the yellow runs out?

No. Each colour in this range is a separate cartridge and a separate listing. The CLT-Y505L is the yellow on its own; the CLT-K505L black, CLT-C505L cyan and CLT-M505L magenta are changed independently, only when each one actually runs down. You never pay to replace toner you have not used.

Does the yellow get used on pages that look black and white?

More than you might expect. Warm greys, skin tones in scanned-and-copied photos, wooden textures and even some shaded table headings all draw on yellow. A page that reads as plain at a glance can still carry a light yellow layer, which is why this cartridge's level falls steadily even in offices that think of themselves as mostly monochrome.

Which Samsung models take this cartridge?

The CLT-Y505L serves the ProXpress C2620DW and the ProXpress C2670FW. Those are the two machines it is listed for — if yours is one of them, this is the yellow it uses.

How fast will an order reach us, and can we get advice first?

Orders are dispatched from the closest of our four warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California. If you would like to talk it through before ordering, the support team answers Monday to Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM CST.

What if the cartridge turns out to be faulty?

Every Clever Supplies compatible cartridge carries a one-year warranty, and if this one is not right you can send it back free of charge within the first year. The details are published on our shipping and returns page.

About This CLT-Y505L Yellow Toner

This compatible CLT-Y505L yellow, rated at 3,500 pages and priced at $47.40 — about 1.35 cents a page at standard coverage — feeds Samsung's ProXpress C2620DW and C2670FW. It is the cartridge behind the warm half of the colour palette on those machines: the golds, ambers, greens and natural skin tones that are usually the first things to look wrong when yellow runs short. It sits in our Samsung toner range with a one-year warranty and free first-year returns behind it, and ships from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses.
