Frequently Asked Questions
Which of our everyday documents quietly use the most cyan?
Anything with blue or green in it: corporate logos, charts, highlighted spreadsheet cells, and the default blue of hyperlinks in printed documents all draw heavily on cyan. Photographs of skies, water, and office scenes use more than most people expect, too. That is why cyan often empties ahead of the other colors even in offices that think of themselves as light color users.
How does the cost of a color page compare with a black page on this machine?
Honestly, color costs more: this cyan cartridge is $82.55 for a rated 15,000 pages, about 0.55 cents per page, against roughly 0.33 cents for black — and a full-color page draws on all three color cartridges plus black. For internal drafts, printing in black-only mode where the machine allows it is the simplest way to keep color costs where they belong: on pages that actually need color.
Which machines does this cyan cartridge fit?
It is the platform cyan for Ricoh Aficio MP C3002 and MP C3502 — the Aficio MP C3002 / C3502 family — where the cyan cartridge number is 841279, part of the 8412 family this listing is named after. One cyan design serves the entire platform, so if your machine's cyan slot takes an 841279, this cartridge is the match regardless of which model name is on the front panel.
Our blues have gone purple and greens look muddy — is cyan the culprit?
Very likely. When cyan runs low, blues shift toward purple and greens lose their brightness because the machine cannot balance the mix. Install a fresh cyan cartridge, let the machine run its automatic calibration, and the color balance normally returns on the next few pages.
Do I have to replace the other colors at the same time?
No. Each color slot is independent, and the machine only stops for the color that is actually empty. Replace cyan now and leave magenta and yellow until their own warnings come — there is no benefit to swapping good cartridges early, and it only raises your cost per page.
What protection do I get with this cartridge?
It is covered by a 1-year warranty, and you can return it free of charge any time within the first year — the policy details live on our shipping & returns page. If the cartridge leaks, streaks, or underperforms, contact support Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST and we will replace it or refund you.
