Frequently Asked Questions

The red in our company logo prints orange — what causes that?

That is the classic signature of a fading magenta. Your logo's red is built mostly from magenta plus yellow; when magenta drops, the balance tips and the red warms into orange. Check by printing a solid magenta patch from the printer's test pages — if it comes out pink or banded, the cartridge is at the end of its life even if the toner gauge still shows a sliver remaining.

How many pages should we honestly expect from this magenta?

The rating is up to 15,000 pages at 5% coverage. A typical office MFP like the MP C3001 printing a few hundred color pages a week will usually see well over a year from a cartridge at light coverage. Presentation decks, brochures and photo-heavy pages carry much more than 5% coverage and will shorten that considerably — judge it by your mix, not the headline number.

What does the magenta in each page cost us?

At $82.55 for up to 15,000 pages, the magenta works out to roughly 0.55 cents per page. That is the honest comparison figure for a compatible cartridge in this class — and it is a fraction of what the original-brand equivalent typically costs per page for the same rated yield.

Which machines does this magenta fit?

It is made for the Ricoh Aficio MP C3001 and MP C3501. Those models use four separate cartridges; this listing is the magenta on its own, and the black cartridge for the same machines is sold separately. If the panel is calling for magenta, this is the one to order.

What if we open it and the prints are still off?

Start with the basics: seat the cartridge firmly and print a few pages so toner distributes evenly. If the color is still wrong, you are not stuck with it — every compatible cartridge we sell is backed by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, explained on our shipping & returns page.

Can we store a spare magenta next to the printer?

Yes — sealed in its bag, away from direct sunlight and radiators, a spare keeps fine for an extended period. Toner is a dry powder, so an unopened cartridge does not dry out the way liquid ink can. Keeping one spare of the color you run through fastest is a sensible habit on a shared office machine.
