Frequently Asked Questions

What does this cartridge give my C532DN?

A black cartridge rated at up to 7,000 pages for $36.95. The 46490604 is the black cartridge specified for the C532DN, so this single cartridge is the standard replacement when your printer's black runs low — no kit, no extras, just the one cartridge the machine needs.

How much does C532DN printing cost per page with it?

Dividing the $36.95 price by the 7,000-page rating gives roughly 0.53 cents per page in toner. That is based on the industry-standard 5% coverage used for yield ratings. Text documents sit close to that level; pages with large black graphics will use toner faster and cost a little more per page.

When should I expect to replace it again?

That depends on how hard the C532DN works. At roughly 700 pages a month, one 46490604 cartridge lasts about ten months; a department printing 1,500 pages a month will go through one in under five months. When output starts looking faded, the cartridge is nearing the end of its rated life and it is time to have the next one ready.

Does this same cartridge fit any other models?

Yes — the 46490604 also serves the plain C532 printer and the MC573 and MC573DN multifunction machines. If your office has a C532DN alongside one of those, the same cartridge number covers them all, which simplifies ordering. Our Okidata toner page lists the rest of the compatible range.

Is it an original Okidata cartridge?

It is a compatible cartridge built to the 46490604 specification, not an Okidata-branded original. It carries a one-year warranty, so if it fails or performs poorly within that year you are covered — the lower price does not mean you are on your own.

What are my options if the cartridge arrives damaged or faulty?

Returns are free for a full year after purchase, and the warranty runs for a year as well; the process is described on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
