Frequently Asked Questions

Our C532 is shared by the whole team — is a 2 pack a sensible way to stock it?

Yes. A shared printer empties its black cartridge faster and less predictably than a personal one, because everyone's jobs draw on the same supply. With two 46490604 cartridges on hand — up to 14,000 pages between them — the printer keeps working when the first cartridge runs out mid-week, and nobody loses a morning waiting for toner.

How should we store the spare cartridge?

Keep it sealed in its original box, stored flat in a cool, dry cupboard away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Do not open the packaging until the day you install it — the sealed box is what protects the cartridge while it waits. Stored that way, the spare is ready whenever the team needs it.

What does the pack bring our cost per page down to?

The pack is $55.40 for two cartridges rated at 7,000 pages each, so the toner cost is roughly 0.40 cents per page. Bought singly, the same 46490604 cartridge is $36.95 and works out near 0.53 cents per page. Across a busy shared printer's year, that difference adds up to a meaningful saving for exactly the same cartridge.

Does one pack cover our other Oki machines too?

If they are the right models, yes. The 46490604 cartridge is the black cartridge for the C532 and C532DN, and also for the MC573 and MC573DN multifunction machines. Offices running a mix of those models can keep one pack type on the shelf instead of a different cartridge for each machine.

What if a cartridge from the pack turns out to be faulty?

Every cartridge is covered by a one-year warranty, and returns are free for a year from purchase — the details are on our shipping and returns page. Our support team can help Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California.

Is this an original Okidata product?

No, these are compatible cartridges made to the 46490604 specification rather than Okidata-branded originals. That is exactly why the per-cartridge price can sit at $27.70 in this pack. You can see the rest of the compatible range on our Okidata toner page.

About This 2 Pack

Two compatible Okidata 46490604 black cartridges, each rated at up to 7,000 pages, for $55.40 — $27.70 per cartridge and roughly 0.40 cents per page. For a shared C532, C532DN, MC573 or MC573DN, the pack removes the empty-cartridge scramble: one cartridge in the machine, one sealed on the shelf, all backed by a one-year warranty and one year of free returns.
