Frequently Asked Questions

I bought this for the M1522nf specifically. Is that the right way to shop?

Yes — this listing is the cartridge for the LaserJet M1522nf, the networked multifunction model with fax. Inside is one black CB436A cartridge, the 36A supply, rated at 2,000 pages. Shopping by the model name on the front panel and landing on its exact cartridge is how it should work.

The M1522nf copies and faxes as well as prints. Does one cartridge serve all of it?

One cartridge serves everything the machine puts on paper. Scans to a computer use no toner at all, but every copy, printed page and incoming fax lands through the same CB436A. Busy fax-and-copy duty is why these units often finish a cartridge sooner than a print-only desk would expect.

What yield should I plan around on a multifunction workload?

The rating is 2,000 pages at five percent coverage. A received fax or copied form is usually light coverage, so real life often tracks the rating well. Walls of dark copies are the exception — dense, filled forms drink toner noticeably faster than letters and faxes.

Print from the computer looks fine but copies look pale. Cartridge or machine?

That split is a useful clue. If computer prints are strong but copies are pale, suspect the scanner glass or copy density setting — the toner is shared, so a cartridge problem would show in both. If everything is pale, rock the cartridge gently; if nothing improves, it is at its end.

Is changing it on this machine a service job?

Not at all. The cartridge sits under the scanner lid and lifts out by its handle; the new one rocks gently, slides in and seats with the cover closed. No tools, no settings to reset, and the machine recognizes the fresh supply itself. Most users are copying again inside two minutes.

What warranty and support stand behind it?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, with terms on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and help is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST — handy if you want to talk through a fault before ordering.
