Frequently Asked Questions

What does a single-function CP1520-series printer ask of its black cartridge?

Everything. With no copy or fax work, every page this machine produces still comes through the print engine, and the text of nearly all of it is black. This CE320A at $33.07 is the single cartridge that carries that output.

How far does one cartridge go?

It is rated at 2,000 pages. A CP1520-series machine printing ordinary office documents will land close to that; heavy graphics coverage shortens the run, light memos stretch it.

My documents are almost all plain text. Is a color machine's black still the right buy?

It is the only black the machine takes — the platform uses one black slot regardless of how monochrome your workload is. This listing is exactly that slot's cartridge, nothing more bundled than you need.

What are the signs the current cartridge is at the end?

Text turns grey at the edges first, then overall. A gentle side-to-side rock of the cartridge can revive density briefly — a good confirmation the toner itself is nearly spent rather than a machine fault.

How involved is the changeover?

Minimal: front drawer out, old black cartridge lifted away, seal tape pulled from the new one, cartridge seated, drawer closed. The printer recalibrates and updates its gauge on its own.

What backs the cartridge after purchase?

Clever Supplies covers it with a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns — within the first year, a failing cartridge returns at no cost.

About This CE320A Black for CP1520-Series Printers

The CP1520 series is the print-only branch of the 128A platform — the same cartridge ecosystem as MFP models like the Color LaserJet CP1520, minus the scanner and fax. This single CE320A at $33.07 is its black: full-fill, rated at 2,000 pages, and sized to the everyday document load these dependable little machines were bought for.

Dispatch is from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA. The shipping & returns page sets out delivery and returns details, support is staffed Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and the store files the platform's range under HP.

On the printer side it fits the Color LaserJet CM1415fnw, Color LaserJet CP1522n, Color LaserJet CP1523n, Color LaserJet CP1525nw and Color LaserJet Pro CP1525nw. The same cartridge also serves the LaserJet CM1415fnw, Color LaserJet CP1520, Color LaserJet CM1415, Color LaserJet CM1415fn and Color LaserJet CP1528nw. Alongside it sit the 128A cyan cartridge (CE321A), 128A magenta cartridge (CE323A) and 128A yellow cartridge (CE322A); the 128A four-color set is there when the whole set is replaced at once.
