Yellow is the bottle behind safety notices, highlighted clauses, green charts and every warm tone in a business document — and in the 542 family it has to be as tough as the black. Our compatible T542420-S bottle delivers 70 mL of DURABrite ET pigment yellow ink, rated up to 6,000 pages (ISO/IEC 24712, Epson methodology), for the twelve all-pigment EcoTank Pro and WorkForce ST-C models.

Pigment yellow earns its place in offices: it holds under highlighter pens (a dye yellow under a marker is a smear waiting to happen), resists fading on notice boards and shop windows, and keeps chart greens true because the yellow half of every green is stable. Epson built these printers for pigment inks only — its own pages warn that dye ink may cause damage outside the warranty — so the yellow tank's correct refill is a pigment yellow bottle, keyed to its tank and nothing else's.
Refill is the standard two-minute routine: keyed EcoFit nozzle, fill that stops itself at full, resealable cap, no chip. The bottle serves the full 542 roster, EcoTank Pro ET-5150 to ET-16650 and the four ST-C models. Backed by our lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is this bottle's specification?
T542420-S — 70 mL of DURABrite ET pigment yellow ink, up to 6,000 pages (ISO/IEC 24712, Epson methodology), for the yellow tank of the twelve 542 printers listed below.
Why does yellow need to be pigment? It's just yellow.
Because everything yellow touches inherits its durability: greens, warm tones, highlighted text. Dye yellow smears under a highlighter and fades in sunlight; pigment yellow holds. And per Epson, these printers are designed for pigment inks only.
My greens look blue-ish. Is yellow the cause?
Frequently, yes: green is cyan plus yellow, and a low yellow tank drags greens toward blue while cooling warm tones. Check the tank window; refill and nozzle-check before reprinting.
Is it the same yellow as in the home EcoTank lines?
No. The 502 and 522 yellows are dye inks in different bottles for different printers. The 542 yellow is a pigment bottle, keyed for the Pro/ST-C tanks only.
Which models does it fit?
All twelve 542 models: ET-5150, ET-5170, ET-5180, ET-5800, ET-5850, ET-5880, ET-16600, ET-16650 (EcoTank Pro) and ST-C5000, ST-C5500, ST-C8000, ST-C8090 (WorkForce ST-C).
Does the wide-format ET-16600 use the same yellow?
Yes — same 542 family, same bottle. Wide-format color work simply empties the color tanks faster, yellow included.
Any chip or reset involved?
No chip in the bottle. Confirm the refill on the printer's panel so the gauge resets; that's all.
Can I top up yellow by itself?
Yes — tanks are independent, and topping up the same family's ink mid-tank is normal EcoTank use. Never mix families, and never put dye ink in these pigment-only printers.
What if yellow prints streaky after a refill?
Run a nozzle check; broken yellow bars call for one head-cleaning cycle. A full tank + clean nozzle restores the blend — persistent failure is covered by the lifetime warranty.
How do I store a part-used bottle?
Cap it, stand it upright, room temperature, out of direct sunlight.
Is this an Epson-manufactured bottle?
No. It's a Clever Supplies compatible bottle built to the T542420-S specification and labeled as compatible, not a genuine Epson product.
What protection do I get?
Our lifetime warranty — if the bottle ever fails to perform, we replace it — plus free returns within the first year.
