Frequently Asked Questions

Which cartridge is this for the Dell 1250?

This is the magenta cartridge for the Dell Color Laser 1250c family, identified by Dell's supply number 331-0780 — the number printed on the magenta cartridge already in your machine. It is one single magenta toner cartridge, rated at 1,400 pages, at $25.24. Ordering by the 331-0780 number rather than by color name alone is what guarantees the magenta position gets the supply shaped for it.

When should I reorder magenta for a 1250c?

Earlier than you think. Magenta rarely fails all at once; it thins out gradually, and the first warnings are washed-out reds, pale pinks and photos that look sun-bleached while black text remains sharp. If your 1250c is shared or handles time-sensitive work, keep a 331-0780 on the shelf once the installed cartridge is well into its life — at $25.24, a spare is cheap insurance against a mid-job color failure.

What does magenta cost per page in the 1250c, honestly?

At $25.24 across a 1,400-page rating, about 1.8 cents per page for the magenta position. That is not a low rate, and it is worth saying so plainly: the 1250c is a compact desktop machine, and small cartridges are the reason its per-page costs sit where they do. For the light, mixed printing this printer was designed for, the total spend stays small because the cartridge itself is only $25.24 and lasts through months of typical use.

Does heavy photo printing change how long this cartridge lasts?

Yes, dramatically. The 1,400-page rating for the 331-0780 is measured at standard coverage, and photographs cover far more of the page — magenta especially, since it is a core ingredient of skin tones and warm colors. A 1250c printing photo pages regularly can consume this cartridge in a fraction of the rated count. That is not a defect; it is how yield ratings work, and it is worth factoring in if your printing leans visual.

Can the magenta be swapped on its own in the 1250c?

Yes. The four colors in the 1250c are four independent cartridges, and magenta will not empty on the same schedule as the others. Replace the faded 331-0780 by itself and leave cyan, yellow and black in place until each shows its own signs of fading. Changing one cartridge at a time is both the manufacturer's intended routine and the cheapest way to run the printer.

What support and returns stand behind this purchase?

The cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns, with full terms on our shipping & returns page. Orders are dispatched from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and our support team is reachable Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST should anything about the 331-0780 need sorting out.
