Frequently Asked Questions

How long will one of these cyan cartridges last in our Dell 1250?

The cartridge is rated at up to 1,400 pages, so the calendar answer depends on your color volume. Print about 50 color pages a week and you are looking at roughly seven months from one cartridge; at 100 color pages a week, closer to three and a half months. Pages that are mostly black text with a small color logo use very little cyan, so a document-heavy office often stretches a 331-0777 well past those estimates.

How does the per-page cost of this cyan break down?

One cartridge costs $25.24 and is rated at 1,400 pages, which works out to about 1.8 cents per page for the cyan portion of your color output. Put differently, a run of 100 color pages uses roughly $1.80 worth of this cartridge. That is the honest figure for this class of printer — the value here is in the full high-yield fill, not in pretending color printing is nearly free.

Our prints have started looking too warm — reds strong, blues weak. Is that the cyan?

Very likely, yes. Cyan is what builds blues and greens and balances the warm colors; when it runs low, magenta and yellow dominate and prints shift pink or orange even though nothing else changed. Check the printer's toner levels: if cyan is the one near empty while the others still show life, replacing the 331-0777 is the fix.

When is the right time to order the replacement?

Order when the printer first reports low cyan rather than when it reports empty. A low cartridge still has pages left in it, which gives the replacement time to arrive from whichever of our warehouses — IL, PA, GA or CA — is closest to you. Offices that reorder at the low warning almost never lose a print run to an empty cyan slot.

Which printers is this 1250 cyan cartridge made for?

The 331-0777 cyan fits the Color Laser 1250c, Color Laser 1350cnw, Color Laser 1355cn, Color Laser 1355cnw, Color Laser 1755nf, Color Laser 1755nfw, Color Laser C1760nw and Color Laser C1765nf. This listing is named for the 1250 family because that is where most of these cartridges spend their working life, but the part number — not the printer's badge — is what decides the match.

What if the cartridge arrives damaged or fails early?

Every one of these compatible cartridges is covered by a one-year warranty and a full year of free returns, spelled out on our shipping and returns page. If something goes wrong, support is on hand Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
