Frequently Asked Questions

We print mostly black text — why does the cyan in our 1250 still get used up?

Because "mostly" is doing real work in that sentence. Letterheads, charts, screenshots, web pages and the color logo on an invoice all pull cyan, and across a month of everyday office printing those pages add up to a genuine color volume. A cartridge rated at 1,400 color pages can be consumed by a printer whose owner swears they "never print color" — the pages were color, they just did not feel like it.

What does a 1,400-page rating look like in paper terms?

About 2.8 standard reams of paper printed in color. If your office goes through a ream of color output a month, expect one 331-0777 to last close to a quarter; at half a ream a month, nearer half a year. The rating assumes light, standard coverage — photo-heavy pages draw the tank down much faster than a chart page does.

Is $25.24 a good price for 1,400 pages of cyan?

It works out to roughly 1.8 cents per page for the cyan alone, and we would rather show you that number than hide it. Compact color lasers are not the cheapest machines to feed, per page — that is true of the whole class. What you get for the $25.24 is the largest cyan fill Dell offers for the 1250 platform, so you change this cartridge as rarely as the machine allows.

How should I store a spare cyan cartridge until I need it?

Keep it in its sealed packaging, flat, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Toner is a dry powder and keeps well for a long time stored that way, so buying the spare when you install the current 331-0777 — rather than when the printer stops — costs you nothing in shelf life and saves a rushed order later.

Which Dell models take this cyan cartridge?

The 331-0777 is the cyan for a wide slice of Dell's compact color line: the Color Laser 1250 and 1250c, Color Laser 1350 and 1350cnw, Color Laser 1355, 1355cn and 1355cnw, Color Laser 1755nf and 1755nfw, and the Color Laser C1760, C1760nw, C1765, C1765nf and C1765nfw. One part number covers all of them, which is exactly why the listing leads with it.

What cover do I get with a compatible cartridge like this?

A one-year warranty and one year of free returns come standard; the details live on our shipping and returns page. Stock ships from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and if you need a person, support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
