Frequently Asked Questions

Why have our purples turned blue?

Purple is cyan and magenta in partnership. When the magenta (5100C001) in your MF653Cdw fades, cyan (5101C001) dominates the mixture and purples collapse into blue — violet headings become royal blue, and purple chart segments lose their identity entirely. A fresh magenta restores the partnership; the cyan was almost never at fault.

Are there other colors that betray a dying magenta early?

Yes: reds slide orange as yellow (5099C001) gains the upper hand, and pinks wash out to near-white. If blue-shifted purples, orange reds, and weak pinks arrive together, they are all telling the same story about one cartridge in the MF653Cdw — the 5100C001.

How much printing does this cartridge actually cover?

Canon rates the 067 magenta at up to 1,250 pages using the standard test pattern. Presentation-heavy work — purple title slides, red graphics — pulls that figure down, because coverage, not page count, is what consumes toner. At $64.27 the rating equals about 5.14 cents per page. We describe this family as premium-priced compatible toner and let the year's warranty and returns coverage carry the value argument.

Can I check the other colors are fine before ordering?

Print four solid blocks: cyan, magenta, yellow, and a red made from magenta plus yellow. If only the magenta block and the red look weak, the diagnosis is settled and the other cartridges — black 5102C001 included — can stay where they are.

What cover does this compatible cartridge include?

One year of warranty and one year of free returns, detailed on our shipping and returns page. This is a compatible Canon 067 magenta cartridge, not a genuine Canon part; the coverage exists so that if it does not perform in your MF653Cdw, the cost of finding out is ours, not yours.

How difficult is the swap?

It is a two-minute, tool-free change: remove the old magenta from the MF653Cdw, seat the new 5100C001, and print a purple-bearing page to confirm the color has come home.
