Frequently Asked Questions

The yellow bars in our charts have vanished from printed reports. What happened?

Your MF653CDW has run out of yellow — or is close enough that it can no longer lay any down. Yellow chart bars and highlights are the lightest ink on the page, so they are the first casualties: the data is still in the file, but on paper the yellow series simply is not there. It is the most common reason a printed chart "loses" a category.

It looks perfect on screen. Why does the print differ?

Screens mix light; printers mix toner. Your monitor can show a glowing yellow without spending anything, but the printer has to build that yellow from the Canon 067 yellow cartridge (5099C001) itself. When that one cartridge is spent, everything on the page that needed yellow — bars, highlights, the yellow in greens and oranges — goes missing or changes colour.

We print a colour report pack every week. How far does one cartridge go?

The rating is 1,250 pages. To put it in office terms: a 40-page colour report run every week would take roughly 31 weeks to use up a cartridge at that rating, while a 10-page pack would stretch it well past a year. Your mileage will move with how yellow-heavy the pages are, but the rating gives you a planning number.

What is the honest cost per page here?

$64.27 across a 1,250-page rating is about 5.14 cents a page. We are not going to pretend that is bargain territory. What it buys is a chart that prints the way it looked in the meeting — every series present, every colour true — from a compatible Canon 067 yellow made for the MF653CDW.

Is 5099C001 the right part number for our printer?

Yes. The MF653CDW takes the Canon 067 family: black 5102C001, cyan 5101C001, magenta 5100C001 and this yellow, 5099C001. Match the number on the cartridge you remove and you cannot go wrong.

What cover do we have on it?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, with the full wording on our shipping and returns page. Orders ship from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses, and if you want to talk it through first, support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
