Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the MF634Cdw say nothing while our greens quietly turn teal?

Because the printer watches toner levels, not colour truth. The 045HY can be nearly spent while the gauge still shows a sliver, and green — cyan plus yellow — is the first colour to betray the shortage, sliding toward teal and then blue. When the greens go, believe them over the gauge and change the yellow.

What is the per-page cost of yellow on this machine?

This 045HY is $33.64 with a rating of up to 2,200 pages, so about 1.53 cents per page. For an MF634Cdw producing colour documents all day, that keeps the yellow share of running costs small and predictable.

045HY or 045Y — which should I be buying for the MF634Cdw?

The 045HY, unless you have a specific reason to want the standard cartridge. The Canon 045H high-yield is rated 2,200 pages against the standard 045Y's roughly 1,300, and both are priced at $33.64 — the H simply prints longer between changes.

Is the cartridge on this page only for the MF634Cdw?

The listing is written for the MF634Cdw, but the 045HY is the Canon 045H family's yellow, shared with the LBP612Cdw and MF632Cdw. One cartridge design covers all three machines.

What codes cover the rest of the toner bay?

Cyan is the 045HC, magenta the 045HM and black the 045HBK. Match the code on the printer's message to the cartridge you order and you will stay inside the high-yield 045H set.

How am I protected if this one underperforms?

Our 1-year warranty stands behind it, and returns are free for a year. The complete policy sits on the shipping and returns page, and support is staffed Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
