Frequently Asked Questions

We want a standing rule: a full spare set always in the cupboard for the MF634Cdw. Does that work?

It works well, and it is how most small offices that depend on one shared machine run it. This set covers all four slots — 045HBK black, 045HC cyan, 045HM magenta and 045HY yellow — and every cartridge stays sealed until the moment it is fitted, so a spare set on the shelf loses nothing while it waits. When the printer flags a low cartridge mid-job, the swap takes minutes and nobody's print run waits on a courier.

What yields are we stocking with this set?

High-yield Canon 045H ratings throughout: the 045HBK black is rated at up to 2,800 pages and each of the three colors at up to 2,200 pages. Those are class ratings rather than a promise for any single office — heavy color coverage shortens real life, light text work stretches it — but as a class this is the longest-running version of the Canon 045 family.

What does the set cost next to buying the cartridges separately?

Separately, the four Canon 045H singles come to $133.41 here. The set is $77.94, so the cupboard-stocking approach actually costs $55.47 less than reacting cartridge by cartridge, and the average per cartridge works out near $19.49. One order also means one delivery to receive and put away, instead of four spread across the year.

Should we fit all four the day the set arrives?

Only if all four are due. The practical routine is to fit whichever cartridge the MF634Cdw asks for and return the rest to the cupboard still sealed. Toner keeps fine in its packaging, and staggering the fits this way means the spare set quietly absorbs warning after warning before you need to think about reordering.

How is this set different from the standard Canon 045 set?

Capacity class. These are Canon 045H cartridges — the 2,800-page black and 2,200-page colors. The standard Canon 045 line is rated lower, its colors around 1,300 pages, yet at this store the standard singles are priced the same as the H singles. For a shared machine where every swap interrupts someone, the longer H ratings are the sensible default.

What happens if a cartridge from the set lets us down?

Cover is per cartridge: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns on every cartridge in the box, so one bad color never means returning good ones. Terms are spelled out on our shipping and returns page. We ship from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California warehouses, whichever reaches you soonest, and support is staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
