MFC-L5850
Two-sided everything sets the Brother MFC-L5850 apart, with a 70-page duplex ADF enabling automatic two-sided copy and scan alongside duplex printing. A customizable 3.7-inch color touchscreen adds cloud scan shortcuts, and Super G3 fax rounds out the 4-in-1 package on the 42-ppm engine. It takes the high-yield TN850 toner (about 8,000 pages) with the DR820 drum for cost-efficient high-volume output.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which toner does the Brother MFC-L5850 use?
The MFC-L5850 uses the Brother TN850 super high-yield black toner cartridge (~8,000 pages) and the Brother DR820 drum unit (~30,000 pages).
Are the cartridges on this page original or compatible?
Both — you'll find compatible TN850/DR820 replacements and genuine Brother OEM TN850 and DR820 on this page.
How many pages does the TN850 print?
About 8,000 pages at standard coverage — the super high-yield black cartridge for this printer series.
Is the drum included with the toner?
No — the DR820 drum is a separate unit with its own ~30,000-page life, replaced far less often than the toner.
