Frequently Asked Questions

Does stepping from three cartridges to four deepen the per-cartridge discount?

Honestly — no, and it is worth saying clearly. This 4 pack prices the TN850 at exactly $126.71 a cartridge, which is precisely the same per-cartridge figure as the 3 pack. Against four singles at $563.16, the pack's $506.84 saves $56.32 — but that is the same $14.08-per-cartridge saving applied four times, not a better rate for buying bigger. Choose the fourth cartridge for continuity and stock depth, not because the maths improves.

So why choose the 4 pack at all?

Volume and calm. Four cartridges hold 32,000 pages of toner — enough to carry a busy department through a long stretch with one order on the books, or to stock two workgroup machines from a single shelf purchase. For offices that expense ordering time and hate mid-run shortages, one delivery of four is worth more than the handful of dollars a deeper discount would have added.

How does the pack sit against the DR820 drum?

The pack's toner slightly outruns one drum. The DR820 is rated at 30,000 pages; four TN850s hold 32,000 pages of toner, so a fresh drum fitted with this pack will reach its rating during the fourth cartridge. Plan on a drum joining the order after next — or hold this pack across two machines, in which case each drum sees only its own machine's share.

Which printers does this pack fit?

The twenty-three models built on the TN850: the DCP-L5500DN, DCP-L5600DN and DCP-L5650DN; the HL-L5000D, HL-L5100DN, HL-L5200DW, HL-L5200DWT, HL-L6200DW, HL-L6200DWT, HL-L6250 DN, HL-L6250DW, HL-L6300DW, HL-L6400DW and HL-L6400DWT; and the MFC-L5700DN, MFC-L5700DW, MFC-L5750DW, MFC-L5800DW, MFC-L5850DW, MFC-L5900DW, MFC-L6700DW, MFC-L6750DW and MFC-L6800DW.

How does the price compare with list?

The pack is $506.84, which is $253.42 under its own $760.26 list price — a third off list. Against the route most buyers actually compare, four cartridges bought one at a time on this site at $140.79 each, the saving is the $56.32 already described. Both comparisons are shown so you can judge the pack against whichever baseline matters to you.

What are the return and warranty terms?

All four cartridges are genuine Brother products, carrying the OEM arrangement: a 30-day return window from delivery that applies in all cases, and warranty protection under Brother's manufacturer warranty. Our shipping and returns page has the complete wording. Those are the full terms for this pack; the longer cover elsewhere on the site applies to compatible products.
